Brigadier General Allison Miller is the Alabama Air National Guard Commander.

Brig. Gen. Allison Miller's most recent assignment was the Director of Operations, National Guard Bureau A3/10, Washington, D.C. Her previous assignments were the Director of Reserve Integration, Air National Guard, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Pentagon; the Special Assistant to the Commander, Air National Guard Readiness Center; the Director of Safety, National Guard Bureau, Washington DC. She served as the Commander, 179th Airlift Wing, Mansfield, Ohio, and was dual hatted as the Chief, Air Mobility Division, 601st Air Operations Center and the steady state Director of Mobility Forces for AFNORTH, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, where she advised the Joint Forces Air Component Commander on mobility operations in support of homeland air defense for the continental United States, defense support of civil authorities for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and theater security cooperation for North America. Prior to assuming her current position, she was the Senior Executive Officer to the 29th Chief, National Guard Bureau, a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where she was the Chief’s coordination authority across National Guard Bureau, all federal and state government agencies, including the Military Services, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and U.S. government, as well as with industry and allies and partner nations around the world.

Brig. Gen. Miller has served in Operations ALLIES RESOLVE, ALLIES WELCOME, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, INHERENT RESOLVE, and sat Alpha Alert in support of Homeland Defense. She is a decorated pilot with a diverse background comprised of over 2,300 military flying hours (including 400 combat hours) and 4,000 civilian flying hours. General Miller is a civilian pilot with American Airlines, currently on military leave. She graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Aviation in 1993, joining the Air National Guard in 1996 and commissioned as a distinguished graduate, through the Academy of Military Science, Knoxville, Tenn in 1997.
