Izzo graduated from the Alabama Military Academy Class 39 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 1995 as a Signal Officer and has served in signal, air defense artillery, logistics, and military police assignments. In his most recent assignment, Izzo was the first commander of the 142nd Military Police Brigade headquartered in Decatur, Alabama.
Izzo holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University, and master’s degrees from Auburn University in Montgomery and the U.S. Army War College. He continues to serve the City of Huntsville as a police captain and commands the Special Operations Division.
