MAJ. GEN. ROGER A. PRESLEY, JR.

Maj. Gen. Roger Presley is currently serving as the Alabama Army National Guard commander.

MG Roger Presley enlisted into D Company, 926 Engineers, Army Reserves, Decatur, AL in 1986 as a combat engineer. In 1988, he enrolled into ROTC at the University of North Alabama and continued to serve in the Army Reserve until his commissioning in December of 1989. He then transitioned to the Alabama Army National Guard where he branched into the Signal Corps after graduating from ROTC (Honor Graduate). After graduation, he attended the Signal Officers Basic Course at Fort Gordon, GA. His duty assignments include: Platoon Leader, A Co 115th Signal Battalion; Executive Officer / Det Commander, A Co 115th Signal Battalion; Company Commander, A Co 115th Signal Battalion; S2, 115th Signal Battalion; S6, 62d Troop Command; Battalion Operations Officer, 115th Signal Battalion; Brigade Operations Officer, 142d Signal Brigade; Commander, 115th Signal Battalion; G6, 62d Troop Command; Brigade Executive Officer, 142d Battlefield Surveillance Brigade; State Safety Officer, Joint Forces Headquarters. Commander, 122d Troop Command; Assistant Adjutant General, Joint Forces Headquarters.

MG Presley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of North Alabama. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary) Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Service) Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon, Alabama Commendation Medal, National Emergency Service Medal with 911 Device, Special Service Medal Alabama, Faithful Service Medal Alabama, U.S. Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
