31st Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Brigade
This Northport-headquartered Major Command (MACOM) is uniquely suited to tackling urgently sensitive and uncommonly dangerous missions at home or at war. With two CBRN battalions equipped to identify, detect, prevent, and mitigate the world's worst weapons, the 31st is critical to mission success on today's volatile foreign battlefields. The 31st is responsible for the 46th Civil Support Team, a quick-response force instantly deployable anywhere in the Southeast to assist civilian first responders, and the CBRN Enhanced Response Force Package mission, which brings a wide range of technical and tactical capabilities to leverage in the containment of both natural and man-made catastrophes on American soil.
