142nd Military Police Brigade
The Decatur-headquartered 142nd Military Police (MP) Brigade combines Alabama military police forces from across the state into one unified organization with a clear mission to provide the nation's best security and law enforcement Soldiers. Housing the 203rd MP Battalion, the 231st MP Battalion, and five MP companies, the 142nd is the only brigade-sized MP asset east of the Mississippi. As such, the 142nd stands ready and able to assist with the safety and security of the entire region. The Soldiers of the 142nd are trained and equipped to secure and police overseas and domestic military installations, train and augment local and national law enforcement agencies in foreign areas of operation, and integrate with and assist U.S. police forces that have been overwhelmed by crisis or natural disaster.
