226th Combat Communications Group (CCG)
This Major Command (MACOM), headquartered in Montgomery, is one of only two Combat Communications Groups in the Air National Guard and one of only three in the entire U.S. Air Force. The 226th CCG exercises mission command and functional advocacy of the 232nd Combat Communications Squadron and the 280th Special Operations Communications Squadron (both within the Alabama Air National Guard) and nine out-of-state expeditionary communication squadrons. This widespread group provides command, control, communications, and computer (C4) support capabilities to both federal and state taskings. The 226th CCG is a trusted leader in austere, exportable communication technologies and a sought-after mentor in the field.
