Masters of the indigenous approach, this Birmingham-headquartered Major Command (MACOM) is postured to win by combining a unique blend of maneuver, influence, governance, and sustainment. One of only two Special Forces groups in the U.S. National Guard, these elite green berets utilize the latest military technologies and strategies and operate both independently and integrated with host-nation forces to provide planning, logistics, and execution of any mission any time anywhere. Soldiers in this MACOM possess expertise in tactics, combat advisory, military deception, sabotage and subversion, foreign language, relationship-building, cultural understanding, adaptive decision making, cognitive problem solving, and extreme proficiency with countless weapons systems.
